This year's Illumination Award medals went to books from the United States, Canada, and New Zealand. The awards are designed to honor and bring increased recognition to the year’s best new titles written and published with a Christian worldview.
"the Star" will be exhibited at the Bologna International Children's Book Fair in Bologna, Italy, in April 2016 as well as, at Book Expo America in Chicago, IL, in May 2016 and then at the American Library Associations Annual Conference in Orlando, FL, in June 2016. "the Star" is published by Diamanda Publishing. Michele Breza, author of the children's Christmas book, "the Star", has received a Silver Medal in the 2016 Illumination Book Awards in the category of Holiday Books.
